Kabuki

So for this piece I was inspired by the kabuki style. At first I was planning to give her an animal mask, that some of them used. But then I got the idea of painting her face after a kitsune kabuki mask (fox). I love to have the eyes in focus, so I gave her big orange/yellow fox eyes. As an extra detail I gave her mask-styled fox ears to complete show the concept of the mask painting. The ear's are supposed to be made out of a mask's material. Kind of like hair accessories.

I chose red, black and white as the color palette, because I wanted to capture the kabuki feel of it. White skin like the mask, an red kimono with black and white detailes. For the rope however I was planning to keep it pure white, but put in some purple there to have some cool colors as contrast to all the red. Was really fun to draw!
